DESCRIPTION: The Doula Launchpad Conference - Where Every Doula is a STAR! This year’s launchpad theme is “Guided by Legacy, Powered by Birth Force, Bound for the Stars.”  The Conference is a NO-COST in-person convening that celebrates the extraordinary contributions of doulas, birth workers, maternal health advocates, and community healers while providing opportunities for professional development, connection, and inspiration. 

Designed for doulas, at every stage of their journey, this convening invites participants to connect in community and kinship, gain new tools and resources for their practice, share discoveries and strategies for advancing birth justice, and prepare to launch their work to new heights. 

This year we acknowledge the legacy of those trailblazers who came before us—from Black Grandmother Midwives and Indigenous birth keepers to pioneering scientists, physicians, and public health leaders whose wisdom, advocacy, and innovation helped shape the future of perinatal and infant health. Their work laid the foundation for the care, support, and birth justice efforts that continue today.

This is more than a professional development conference. It is a celebration of our collective brilliance, resilience, and impact. Just as the hidden figures helped launch a nation into space, today's birth workers help launch generations into the world, including our amazing Doulas!

Through breakout sessions, panel discussions and presentations, doulas will receive first-hand knowledge on the following topics: 

• Medi-Cal Workforce Education on the social determinants of health 

• Legal presentation of Medi-Cal beneficiary rights in these challenging times

• Perinatal Resourcing Workshops from Managed Care Plans

• Peer Learning and Solutions through a Lunchtime Doula Panel

• Technical support and resource breakouts for Billing, Payment Complaints, Documentation, Small Business Marketing for Doulas

The Los Angeles County Medi-Cal Doula Hub’s (The Doula Hub)  mission is to educate, connect, and advocate for doulas, families and communities, so that any Medi-Cal beneficiary who desires the affirming support of full spectrum doula care, will be able to receive it.

The Doula Hub is a County-community initiative between lead agency Frontline Doulas, in partnership with Diversity Uplifts, Inc., and the LA County Department of Public Health.

• People wanting to become a doula but not yet trained
